The Village of Lake Placid is located 5 hours north of New York City and Boston, 3-4 hours south of Montreal and Ottawa, and 5-6 hours northeast of Syracuse and Rochester. We are at the center of Adirondack Park--a unique 6 million acre reserve with hundreds of lakes and hiking trails and some of the best spring hiking and trout fishing in the East. A 5 minute walk will take you to the shores of Mirror Lake and Lake Placid's many fine dining locales. A 5 minute drive brings you to flyfising on the Ausable River, hiking in the High Peaks, and the grounds of the Lake Placid Horse Shows.
