MOUNTAIN BIKING WHITEFACE MOUNTAIN AND THE VERIZON SPORTS COMPLEX

The Lake Placid Retreat is 10 minutes from both Whiteface Mountain and the Verizon Sports Complex. While both locations are better known as winter sports venues, in recent years they have been refitted and groomed for summer and fall mountain biking. Whiteface Mountain has trails going all the way up to the summit and riders can take their bikes to the top on the mountain's speedy gondola. The Verizon Sports Complex, which in winter serves cross country skiers, snowshoers and biathletes, has a great variety of flat and steep trails. Both locations offer options for kids and adults and are open for biking well into the fall.
