The Lake Placid Retreat is just 5 minutes away from the center ring of the Lake Placid Horse Shows, a pair of the most prestiguous stops on the United States Equestrian Federation's hunter/jumper circuit. Held on the same grounds as the opening ceremonies of the 1980 Winter Olympics, the two shows that comprise the fortnight of competition offer a stunning venue with breathtaking views of Whiteface Mountain and a stylish fun atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike. Everthything from elegant dressage to massive water jumps make these events some of the most challenging on the continent.
