DIRECTIONS TO LAKE PLACID AND THE ADIRONDACK REGION

 

Located in the Village of Lake Placid, The Lake Placid Retreat is 5 hours north of New York City and Boston, 3-4 hours south of Montreal and Ottawa, and 5-6 hours northeast of Syracuse and Rochester. Here are some basic directions for all points, north, south, east and west.

From Metropolitan New York & New Jersey Area: Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) north to exit 24 (Albany). Continue on I-87 (Adirondack Northway) to Exit 30. Follow Route 9 north to Route 73, west to Route 86.

From Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and points west: Take I-90 east to I-81 in Syracuse. Follow I-81 north to Watertown, then take Route 3 east to Saranac Lake and Route 86 to Lake Placid

From Ottawa: Take routes south to the Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 east to Malone. Follow Route 30 south to Route 86 east to Lake Placid.

From Montreal: Take Autoroute 15 south to the Champlain crossing, where it connects with I-87 south. Take exit 34 west, follow Route 9N to Route 86, and then follow Route 86 west to Lake Placid.
